摘要
In the urban traffic network, bottlenecks widely exist and produce many traffic phenomena, including stop-and-go traffic oscillations, traffic hysteresis, congestion, capacity drop, etc. In this paper, the traffic flow video of an expressway continuous static bottlenecks segment in Nanjing, China was collected by using the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). And the empirical vehicular trajectory data was obtained. In order to describe clearly the process of congestion formation and propagation, we analyze the spatiotemporal characteristics near the static bottlenecks at a microscopic level. In the study period, the characteristics are more complex at continues static bottlenecks than that on an isolated bottleneck segment, and many oscillations are observed in traffic streams due to the lane changing activity and variable car following behaviors. Our finding also suggests that the downstream bottleneck discharge rate increases affected by the upstream bottleneck in the congested state.
