In the present study, the influence of slag blending ratio in blended cement on chloride binding property was investigated along with water-to-binder (w/b) ratio and temperature. Slag blends were found effective in chloride binding than OPC and 50% slag blends provided highest values, which was mainly because of comparably high chemical binding due to formation of Friedel’s salt with high alumina content of slag. For 50% slag blending ratio with w/b ratio 0.5, total bound chloride increased by about 47% and 48% than OPC at 20ºC and 40ºC, respectively, at free chloride concentration 3.0 mol/L, whereas for w/b ratio 0.3, it was about 10% and 27%.
