Abstract: The “source to sink”(S2S) system of ancient continental lake basin is a hot issue in the field of Geology and oil and gas exploration. Predecessors mostly focused on quantitative characterization and main controlling factors analysis of paleoresidual system with the help of sequence stratigraphy and sedimentology. The reconstruction of the ancient S2S system was less carried out. The Miaoxibei Area is located in the East of Bodong Sag on the eastern edge of Bohai Bay Basin. During the sedimentary period of the Second Member of Shahejie Formation of Paleogne(Es2), the Miaoxibei Uplift and the Bodong Sag formed a complete S2S system. This study is based on drilling, thin section, well core and 3D seismic data, combining the principles of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology and geomorphology, though the fine description of the elements of the residual S2S system of Es2 in the Miaoxibei Area, analyze the internal relationship of between the elements of the S2S system, the multivariate nonlinear fitting model of the elements of the S2S system of the Es2 in the study area is established, the main controlling factors of delta development scale are discussed, and the rationality of multivariate nonlinear fitting model in the fields of statistics, geology, mathematics and physics is demonstrated. Based on the quantitative calculation of the parameters of the ancient S2S system, the ancient S2S system of Es2 of the study area is reconstructed. The results shou that, the sedimentary period of the Es2 in the study area, the bedrock types of Miaoxibei Uplift were mainly Mesozioc granite, Lower Proterozoic quartz schist and breccia. The trend of the main watershed was near-south, and the secondary was near east-west. The ancient water system were scattered in the ancient watershed and distributed near east-west. The development types of transport channels were mainly ancient gullies and fault grooves, in which the ancient gullies can be further divided into V-type, U-type and composite type, and the fault grooves were mainly single fault type. The fan delta sedimentary system was mainly developed in the Es2 of the study area, and the plane shapes of fan delta were continuous or isolated lobe. The development scale of the transport channel is closely related to the height of source. The larger the height of the source, the larger the development scale of the transport channel, and the development scale of transport channel has weak correlation with denudation area and water system length and the other factors. The correlation between channel width ratio, catchment area and fan volume are strong, followed by source area, source height, channel depth, channel width, channel cross-sectional area and fan volume. Based on the results of single factor analysis, taking the fan volume as the dependent variable and selecting the source area, source height and cross-sectional area of handing channel as the independent variables, a multivariate nonlinear fitting model is established. The correlation coefficient R2 is 0.682, which has strong overall correlation and has certain prediction significance. Though the fitting model, it is estimated that the denudation coefficient (the denudation coefficient is defined as the ratio of the denuded source volume in a certain sedimentary period to the current residual source volume) of the source area in the study area was 0.015, the denudation loss area in the source area was 84.5km2, and the denudation loss height in the source area was 0.53km, and the denudation intensity in the source area was 0.21. The reconstruction results of paleo S2S system show that the slope break zone of the Es2 in the study area was of fault controlled steep slope type, and the stratum filling boundary was controlled by faults. The denudation in the northeast is strong and weak in the southeast. The original thickness characteristics of the Es2 in the study were thin in the East and thick in the East. Bounded by the main watershed, the Paleogene on the west side of the Miaoxibei Uplift was large, and the denudation on the east side was small. The plane position of the main watershed gradually moves eastward. The Es2 mainly developed a set of fan delta deposits with rapid accumulation of near source transportation.
