With the demand for diversified English talents in the society, the significant factor that cannot be neglected in language testing and assessment in ESP teaching is CS(Customer Satisfaction), which is indispensable for the workplace and plays a crucial role in the cultivation of applied English talents. So far, however, language testing and assessment in ESP teaching, especially in some provincial universities, is still constricted to language knowledge and language competence, also away from practicability. Taking non-English major students of the provincial universities in China as an example, this study aims to improve the validity of language testing and assessment in ESP teaching so as to promote the educational quality of applied English talents.
Predicated upon the data and analysis of 223 valid questionnaires, the paper suggests that CS(Customer Satisfaction) is the vital indicator of language testing and evaluation in ESP teaching, with which CS(Customer Satisfaction) is significantly correlated. By ways of analyzing CS(Customer Satisfaction) and the present situation of language testing and assessment in ESP teaching, three innovative ideas are provided in this essay: " CS-oriented" dimension of language testing and assessment, "CS -oriented" route of language testing and assessment, "CS -oriented" standard of language testing and assessment.
