The Impact of Autonomous Vehicles on Cities:Analysis Based on The Development Vision of Sharing Mode

Each advance in transportation technology affects the development of the city. Autonomous vehicle (AV) technology based on computer science and artificial intelligence is gradually improving, which is bound to have a significant impact on urban development. Based on the analysis of the concept of sharing economy, the article proposes the development vision of sharing mode. It studies the influence of AVs on the urban develop-ment in the sharing mode. In the short term, AVs will directly improve urban traffic efficiency, reduce traffic land use and reduce traffic pollu-tant emissions. In the long term, AVs will improve the efficiency of ur-ban economic development, change the urban spatial structure, and im-prove the level of urban living environment. Finally, it calls for research based on computational quantitative modeling method to explore the possible impact of AVs on cities.
