Urban road structure plays an important role on commercial agglomeration. Taking Nanjing as the example, this paper explores the influence of road structure on the spatial distribution of commercial centers through both the spatial syntax and GIS spatial analysis. First, we climbed POI data and visualized the distribution of commercial agglomeration by the kernel density estimation. Second, the space syntax model was used to compute road structure indicators, such as connection value, global integration degree, local integration degree, intelligent, total depth value and control value. Then we explored the influence of road structure on the accessibility of commercial facilities. The conclusion is drawn that: 1) The layout of commercial centers tends to be located in areas where the integration of the axis is high, that is, high accessibility areas. 2) The connection value, control value and local integration level has positive relationship with the level of commercial centers, however, the total depth value is the opposite. 3) The intelligent scatter plot shows that the local range intelligence of commercial centers is higher than the city’s intelligence. Thus, the study of commercial agglomeration based on space syntax may play a supporting role for the layout of business and traffic planning.
