Nowadays, the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has become a big issue in China. With the increasing aggregation of core cities in the Bay Area, the development of Guangzhou-Foshan has been placed a higher strategic position. In this paper, the current traffic pattern of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area District and Guangzhou-Foshan area will be taken as the research object and the traffic accessibility and economic connection between Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangzhou-Foshan area, the cross-border commuter contact between Guangzhou-Foshan will be analyzed, basing on GIS and combining with various types of open network big data. The paper will determine the relationship and development trend of urbanization traffic and land use and provide an analysis reference for traffic and land use in the Bay Area.
The research shows that: (1) Considering of the increasing development of the multi-core urban agglomeration function in the Bay Area, the regional economic influence of Guangzhou-Foshan regions in the Bay Area is declining; (2) The integration of Guangzhou-Foshan regions and the city is better, but still there are obvious administrative boundaries; (3) There is a “value squatting land” to be developed in the border area between Guangzhou and Foshan, and various basic supporting facilities should be strengthened to meet the requirements of economic and social development.
