Promoting urbanization is an important way to solve the problems of ag-riculture, rural areas and peasants. The development of villages and towns is an important part of urbanization. Evaluating the suitability of the construction land for villages and towns is the premise for the effi-cient integration and utilization of land resources in villages and towns, and is the basic work for improving the utilization efficiency of villages and towns, optimizing resource allocation, and intensively utilizing land. The research based on matter-element model can deeply grasp the con-crete expression of the matter-element to be evaluated in a single index. Combining with ENVI and ArcGIS software, it greatly improves the ac-curacy of land use suitability evaluation of villages and towns in Yongchuan District, and obtains the basic situation and existing prob-lems of the construction land of villages and towns.
