As a typical category of cultural leisure venues, the museum increasingly influences citizens' well-being and cities' competence. Geospatial analytics of museums facilitates coping with certain social problems (e.g., social equality or cultural justice) to guide, reshape and finally optimize people’s culture-oriented leisural lifestyle. Yet, few studies concern the geospatial thinking of urban museums, especially in developing countries (e.g., China). This paper aims to address the spatiality of museums based on the GIS-plaform with the case study of Wuhan City, Central China. We have the following findings: 1) Museums’ spatial pattern is illustrated, indicating social and cultural inequality. 2) Spatial correlation between population and museum distribution is identified - significantly positive. This initiates us to systematically explore the spatial association between museums and other promising determinants. This study is conducive to make political directives for cultural, leisure and justice city construction.
