Traditional settlement is a very important historical and cultural relic in a region. The protection and rational development of the traditional villages becomes more and more urgent with the advance of time and the progress of society. In this paper, to seek the balance in development, the author puts forward some opinions on the protection and development of traditional villages, takes the village of Dali as the research object and combines the village environment with the actual village condition, hopes to propose a village protection strategy suitable for the actual needs, which looks to provide some practical experience on the protection and development of traditional villages.
