With the development of distribution network, the three-phase unbalance caused by increasingly complex loads affects the safety and economic operation of the power grid. For solving three-phase unbalanced problem, the power supply mode of the distribution network based on the three-phase to single-phase ac/dc/ac converter is proposed in this paper. A control method of a three-phase to single-phase ac/dc/ac converter is given, this power supply mode is evaluated from the aspects of equipment reliability, investment and construction cost, operation and maintenance cost and power quality. A distribution network power supply module based on three-phase to single-phase ac/dc/ac converter is implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC. The simulation results show that the proposed power supply method is feasible and has good reference for the planning and construction of distribution network.
