With the gradual exhaustion of fossil fuel, development of the off-shore wind power becomes very important in Guangdong province. This paper is focused on the impacts of the increasing penetration of wind farm on power system small-signal stability. Simulation results show that the oscillation mode is related to the penetration of wind farm. Different kinds of wind turbine models are considered. Simulation results show that the detailed wind turbine model brings new oscillation mode related to the wind turbine itself. This modeling method provides theoretical foundation and a tool for small signal stability analysis of the power system containing large scale off-shore wind farms.
