Implosion performance and hotspot shape of novel hohlraum

Indirect-driven implosion performance by using novel hohlraum were reported here. Driven by all beams of the 100kJ high power laser facility, the six-port-cylinder hohlram has resulted in a peak radiative temperature ~220 eV, LPI similar to outer ring of cylindrical hohlraum and convergence ratios (Cr) of 9 to 20 for deuterium gas-filled capsule implosions. The best yield over clean (YOC) has been demonstrated up to ~60% and reduced nuclear performance was observed as Cr increased. From the hotspot shape of x-ray self-emissions obtained by Kirkpatrick–Baez microscope, this trend can be mainly due to the residual drive asymmetry caused by the non-ideal laser configuration and has also been track by simulation.
