Design of THz Reflectometry and Interferometer on Yingguang-I

To observe the formation of FRC plasma, the Yingguang-1 group designed reflectometers and interferometers for high density FRC. Reflectometer is used to diagnose the phenomenon of total reflection which occurs when electromagnetic wave propagates in plasma. Due to the special structure of FRC, the reflectometer can only give the density distribution outer O-point and near separatrix. This result is helpful in SOL researching. Interferometer is used to measure the optical path difference between the reference arm and the measuring arm to acquire the index of refraction. By measuring the phase shift of the incident wave in the plasma, the dielectric constant of plasma is obtained. This article introduce design of a frequency modulated continuous THz wave reflectometry and also a UV interferometer used in high density FRC on Yingguang-1 device.
