In the past decade, the human proteome has been extensively mapped, and great progress has been made in applying proteomics techniques in the biomedical research. Arabidopsis is a model system for studying plant growth and development, and its genome and transcriptome have been studied in detail, but the comprehensive mapping of its proteome is limited. Up to 12,900 protein groups were identified in the Arabidopsis seedlings, using LC/MS/MS analysis coupled with off-line high-pH reversed-phase fractionation. In this study, Arabidopsis proteome PeptideAtlas is constructed by deep proteome analysis of different tissues or combination of tissues (leaves, roots, stems, flowers, seeds, pods, shoots and seedlings) at different development stages. This study would generate a PeptideAtlas for the Arabidopsis proteome, and will facilitate the study of Arabidopsis biology at the molecular levels.
