Whilst the emphasis of translation education at the undergraduate level has been put on cultivating students’ competence, mainly referring to language competence and translation competence, the exact correlation between the two competences still needs empirical analysis and validation. Deficiencies in the research field are largely caused by the lack of a clearly defined competence construct and the lack of a precise and efficient evaluating system. The China’s Standards of English Language Ability (CSE) can offer objective and reliable guidance in translation teaching, learning and assessment. The research methods adopted in this study are questionnaire and interview. The study aims to research the correlation between interpreting competence and listening competence of BTI students (grade 3-4) based on CSE. The research result can deepen the understanding of the correlation between interpreting competence and listening competence and can provide listening competence related reference for BTI interpreting training and the curriculum design. It can also help students better understand their strengths and weaknesses in listening and interpreting and orient their learning more effectively.
翻译专业本科教育强调培养学生的能力,主要包括语言能力和翻译能力。但目前两种能力间关系的实证分析以及验证研究还存在不足,这主要是由于缺乏对能力构念的清晰认识及准确有效的量化描述体系。而基于大规模实证数据构建的中国英语能力等级量表(CSE),可以为翻译教、学、测提供客观、稳定而且相对统一的参考。本论文采用问卷调查法和访谈法,借助中国英语能力等级自我评价量表研究翻译专业本科大三、大四学生的听力能力和口译能力之间的关系,以深化对这两种能力间关系的认识,了解学生在口译、听力学习上的需求和困难,为本科口译教学和课程设置提供参照;此外也有助于学生对自身能力现状和发展获得更全面的认识,形成更有针对性的学习规划。
