Abstract Purpose of the study was to analyze the practical process of course innovation in Nursing English for the college students majored in nursing based on developing students’ autonomous learning ability. In the innovative teaching process, teaching experience had demonstrated that appropriate teaching objectives, methods, evaluation, class design, after-class self-learning activities can improve and develop students’ autonomous learning ability to meet their needs and inspire learning interests. Teaching innovation in Nursing English will lay the foundation for developing practical nursing professionals.
