The Internet of Things is conglomeration of devices, sensor and computing capabilities that enable intelligent control and monitoring across various devices spatially distribute in an automated manner. Vital components in this ecosystem are data and network. An efficient way to collect small amounts of data (at low power) ,transmit them in real time , process them in close to real time have a bidirectional communication in real time. The culmination of big data and IoT will fundamentally alter the value proposition to the end customer by providing insightful, relevant and actionable data to influence the decision – making paradigm in real time.
In this paper, we explore the recent development in the field of IOT, as well as key design challenges, the applications of IOT and future prospects.
