Subjective evaluation has the characteristics of simple, intuitive and without the test equipment. But it often because of one an evaluator who lack experience, which leads to the evaluation standard of the good and bad results of the calibration differs from man to man, and lead to the goal of the calibration adjustment was ambiguous. While several evaluators join in the evaluation with high costs. Therefore, it is necessary that some objective assessment methods be taken to the calibration engineer and evaluator who have poor experience or not about vehicle evaluation.
In this paper, influencing indexes of drivability were analyzed from the subjective feeling of drivers and dynamic change of engine starts. In order to remove the relative indexes and got the key indexes, the methods of Pearson correlation analysis method and principal component analysis were applied to get the key factors of the drivability of engine starts. Moreover, the evaluation model of drivability was established which based on support vector regression theory. Through comparison to the result of subjective scoring and model computing, scoring found that the evaluation model could correctly describe the drivability quality in the mode of engine start. The results derived from the evaluation model can be used for calibration targets to achieve repeatable and quantifiable calibration of the engine management system. This method can give the practical significance and theoretical basis for the calibration work of the control strategy of engine start.
