The evolving nature of avian influenza is estimated, to be equivalent to the Spanish flu and to take away the lives of 640,000 people. In Bangladesh, outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) subtype H5N1 in poultry was found in 2007 and by 2012, five hundred fifty six outbreaks occurred. Sadly four hundred ninety nine (499) of these outbreaks occurred poultry farms as to fifty seven (57) in backyard farms. Current thinking validates that proper vaccination was found to be of use only, when a part of an integrated control program. Such program require intensive surveillance of host animals attached with a light weight, wearable node consisting of a thermos-sensor and an accelerometer, to detect early stages of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in infected chickens. Earlier developed prototypes, were however unable to quickly detect many strains of HPAI viruses using fever and motion. A wireless sensor network that could process and identify early HPAI symptoms would be highly useful as an effective signal of the outbreaks. An improved design of the sensory node prototype involves a digital temperature sensor, an accelerometer and a propeller board P8X 32A. Experiments are planned to use differences in body temperature and lower activity levels, measured at variety of surroundings. The sensor node should be capable of detection of HPA1 parameters irrespective of the surroundings. Results will include detection based on a greater range of sensitivity parameters thus a greater accuracy of measured values and lower identifying of false alarms. This research represents an improved detection of avian influenza in the fastest way were shown.
