Capacity Analysis with Antenna Mutual Coupling Effect and Polarization Transmission in UWB Time Reversal MIMO Communication System

Time reversal (TR) is applied to UWB MIMO communication systems due to its synchronously spatiotemporal focusing property in this paper. A joint antenna and spatial threedimensional channel model is built to explore the preferable antenna deployment in UWB TR MIMO systems. Statistical capacities corresponding to different antenna configurations are compared by fully taking mutual coupling effect, polarization, and spatial path loss into account. The results demonstrate that channel capacities with larger antenna gains and co-polarization transmission will be larger in the configured environment.
